Shelter you own and cannot get into is a very specific feeling, and it turns up in people who are doing everything right on paper, which is why the lights being on matters more than the rain.

Dan, somebody was in there, so the question I would take back to bed is who, and whether you have knocked.

Both of those are about being kept outside something, and the third one is the opposite, which is why I have kept it for last.

In her dream the rain stopped, and the silence that came after it was what woke her up, frightened, at an hour she would rather not have been awake.

People who have been waiting out something long and grinding often get this one just as it ends, because the sound had become the company, and its going leaves a shape behind.
